Has its pros and cons

Well, I still don't know what to think of these collars. Some are good, some are terrible, and some are in between. Good: - 3 modes. They can beep, vibrate, or shock. (more on that in Bath) - Everything is handled on 1 remote control so you only have to keep track of one (more on that in Bath) - Collars are adjustable and color coded so you can distinguish between 1 and 2. They are RELATIVE small. They are ONLY a little big for my small dogs. For a medium or large dog, they are not too bulky at all. Cons: The charger is just terrible. It's ALMOST awesome since you can charge a collar AND the remote at the same time, but why the heck can't you charge both collars?! You have to charge the collars at different times, which makes no sense. Terrible design - No clear instructions. There's no light to tell you when the collars are fully charged and I believe the only indicator to tell you it's on is the flashing light. I say "I think" because sometimes there is no light, but they still work. Sometimes they turn off by themselves, sometimes they stay on. You can long press the power button and it will beep and do SOMETHING, sometimes it's just a single press. I don't remember if an instruction manual was included, but I can't find any help online or contact the seller directly. The only mode that really doesn't give a damn is Vibration. All three work, but vibration is probably the only one you'll use unless you're a sadist or really want to influence your dog's behavior change. First, the "Noise" mode is just a small signal of 5 beeps that cannot be raised or lowered. If your dog is barking at the top of his lungs, he probably won't hear that little useless beep or, in my case with dogs, CARE. In "Percussive" mode, MORE compensates for the inefficiency of the sound modes. Look I love my dogs. I don't want to shock them, but I understand that in extreme cases, something more than vibration may be required. BUT, I don't do anything with my dogs that I haven't tested myself beforehand. My shock was set to "40" when I held it in my hand. I pushed the button and involuntarily threw the collar across the room! Holy shit! This thing goes to 100, and as a grown man I can't take 40. I reduce it to NINE and try again. It hurt almost as much. At this point I lower it to 1. it's ONE and push the button. Basically nothing. Ok cool BUT you know what they wear it around their necks let me put it around MY neck first and take a look. I put it around my neck (my wife walks into the room), push the button and SCREAM! I drop the collar and start jumping across the room. Wife asks what the hell is my problem?! Look, I weigh 200 pounds. My dog weighs 17 kilos. Putting and using this on a dog should be a crime. It's inhuman. I would NEVER use the clout of this collar on anything less than a charging pit bull or similar. My JRR would be fried. I literally can't believe how powerful the shock mode is on this collar. While the remote control is nice in that it works with both, it's still a bit clunky in execution. You must toggle between the two collars before pressing the button to make a desired correction. There have been a few times that I've grabbed a collar and made adjustments before realizing it was fitted to the wrong collar (which is more common than you might think as I have one dog that causes more problems than another, and therefore almost there is ALWAYS one collar on, but as they have to charge offset due to a stupid charger, I switch collars while the other charges). Other times both need to be corrected, and you have to press a button, then a shift key, then a correction button, etc. etc. I wish there was a collar correction button 1 and a collar correction button 2, and all the modes and settings buttons can be shared. In general, a decent solution to the naughty dog problem if you figure out how to make everything work and keep working.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • The list will be long.
