Comfortable and well made, maybe a little small? But very small pockets

I am very happy with this winter overall. They are well made and the thick but lightweight canvas is water and wind resistant. The adjustable bib straps stay in place and keep the pants in place even if they're a bit loose - good if you want to buy them with the option to expand. These are not full body bibs but are high waisted and suspenders. This makes them a good choice for a child prone to overheating. They have reflective strips on both sides, a good safety feature. There are both grippy inner cuffs and elasticated straps to keep them secure in or over your boots depending on preference. .They fit my sturdy 9 year old daughter well, they are not stiff or bulky so your active child can run around and doesn't look like little brother Ralphie from A Christmas Carol. But since she's small and they're only a tad long (and not long at all with boots), I'd say they can generally work on the shorter end of the size range (8-10). years is a pretty gigantic size window). She was 48" a few months ago, which places her on the low or low end of the size range for these pants. If she was 5 inches taller, they would definitely be too short. The only drawback is the very small pockets. The zipper is a good thing and the closed zipper ends are a really nice feature, but they don't match the pants. These are more like 5/6 pockets, tops, for little hands than handbags for an 8-10 year old. She has normal hands and she can't put her hands in her pockets without stuffing them in and then pulling them out again, so these pockets are basically just for storing things, but then you have a problem getting things back. Outside. My short-fingered, size 7 female hand only fits my fingers in width, and my fingertips touch the bottom of my pocket without even reaching my knuckles. Given that your kid will most likely wear them with a coat, it doesn't matter, but bad pockets annoy me.
