We have a Cuisinart PowerBlend Duet that we use daily to blend baby food. Works well, but terribly noisy. My petrol lawnmower and Honda chainsaw are quieter. We'll be mashing for an indefinite future, so we went in search of a new brand in hopes of saving our hearing. We chose this because it was advertised as quiet. When we received it, the first thing I did was connect it and compare the noise. It was wonderful. It was easily only a third louder, maybe less. It was functionally comparable. While the Cuisinart pureed better and faster, the Braun was so quiet that we were able to puree in 30-40 seconds instead of 15-20 seconds. It also has a small serving accessory that comes in handy. Cuisinart is boxed and sold at a discount on Craigslists.
