Mediocre quality and not made in the USA

Rhino USA does not claim (from what I've seen) to be made in the USA. They appear to be owned and operated by the US, who actively sell them. Their products are the same offshore junk you can buy anywhere, usually for a lot less money. My fault I bought based on "USA Proprietary" marketing without thinking enough that they never claim anything "MADE in the USA". Forget the company, this is a product review. Two stars is a little generous, but I think I got what I ordered. Some of the items even worked once or twice. - Tarp Clips: Four out of four broke on first use. Not during use, but during installation. Attach to a tarp, attach an elastic cord to it, stretch the cord to about 50% of its maximum elongation - the clip will break. Try again, same result. Rinse and repeat x4. So complete garbage. Cords themselves: Small ones with metal clips are usually untied. I wouldn't say it's a quality issue per se. I think the knots are too close to the end of the cord from the factory. I tied them all a little shorter (tails lengthening at the knots) and they don't come out anymore. This was discovered after the three ends came loose during their initial installation. Larger lines have metal core hooks and a plastic mold around them. In about the first five uses, the plastic broke off the two hooks on the "nose" where the plastic protrudes slightly beyond the built-in metal hook. I now have two hooks with a fairly sharp, raw metal edge protruding from the hook. The irony is that none of the hooks that met this fate touched that part of the hook with anything - they both held D-rings roughly in the middle of the hook mouth. Finally, on *every* cord I've used with plastic/metal hooks on it, the elastic cords effectively pull out of the molded hook. They all look like the elastic core of the cord has completely come out of the hook (or wasn't terminated in the first place), and only the colored braided jacket is left connecting the actual cord to the hook. lower quality than next brand elastic cords. They basically work. I think that goes for most elastic cords I've ever used. Given the higher price than openly imported ones, they lose a few stars. Unless it really costs you that much to give your hard-earned cash to a middleman in the US, go and buy the same thing elsewhere.
