My husband decided to build a big greenhouse last Spring. We were very excited to grow our own vegetables so I went and bought a ton of seeds and started my own plants. We got some grow lights from a friend and installed them quickly. Only half the seeds germinated and it felt like the ones that lived, took quite a while to get to flowering maturity. We didnt end up with much of a crop.We bought this grow light to help increase our germination and grow rate. The dimming function works flawlessly and is perfect when starting seeds. At that point, the light doesnt need to be full strength. As the plants grow, we're able to turn up the intensity of the light. The fan keeps the light area from getting overheated and is a great safety feature.We hung our light from a pipe down the middle of the greenhouse structure. It was easy to hang with the included suspension kit and adjustable ropes. It is very easy to adjust the light height which helps to keep it low for the seeds and higher as the plants grow. The 2' by 4' size is great when doing multiple plants, plenty of light. My husband found it easy to supply the power feed to the ballast. The fact that its LED keeps the power usage significantly lower than our previous high intensity discharge fixtures. No need to swap from high pressure sodium to metal halide, it covers the full spectrum.
