Fitness first, then smartwatch

Those of you who are more interested in fitness first and then smartwatch functions will love this watch. My Vivoactive HR just died after using it for over 3 years so I upgraded to Vivoactive 4. This is a major upgrade in terms of looks and features. Here's everything I like: 1) Two buttons. I initially bought the Vivoactive 3 Music because it sold for $200, but I quickly realized that the lack of a second button was a major issue for me. Having two buttons is much more convenient for general navigation. Also during training the second button can be used to adjust the circle (instead of vivoactive 3, where you need to double tap the screen). The second button alone was worth the extra cost. The vivo3 has a 20mm band while the vivo4 has a 22mm band. The big strip looks much better. The extra 0.1-inch screen real estate is also put to good use. It is really important. 2) Touchscreen - I've also been testing the Fenix 5 Plus for a while; Now that's a great watch. The only problem I had with the Fenix was that you had to control everything with buttons. The buttons are great for fitness and water sports, but when you're in the office it's a little awkward when you're in a meeting and pressing the buttons to navigate text messages or email. The Fenix was an amazing fitness watch, don't get me wrong, but it didn't live up to my expectations of professional life. Because it felt weird pressing 5 buttons on the Fenix in the office, I wanted to go back to the touchscreen. The touchscreen is much faster and easier than Garmin's buttons. It also looks cooler, making it more of a smartwatch. 3) fitness functions. If you've never had a Garmin, they'll help you get fit. The data collected is much better and more accurate than any other smartwatch. This watch has far more fitness features than the average athlete will ever need. There are many apps available and it's so easy to move around and adapt to your needs. I mainly use it for running, golfing and open sea canoeing with the SUP app. Although it is a touchscreen, it still responds well when you use it in wet water. You just need to dry it out somehow before attempting to navigate the water. But here's the thing, if you do: If you're really serious about your workout, you're probably working too hard to even mess with your watch during your workout, so focus on your workout, not your watch. I set it to buzz after each mile so I could see every step in a mile. This works well for 5-10 mile sessions when trying to beat my time. I listen to music while rowing and that's a really nice feature. I had no trouble connecting to my waterproof earbuds, even with all the movement during my workout. I use Mpow Flame waterproof headphones. The golf application is great: front, middle and back of the course. 4) Battery life is my number one reason to buy Garmin over Apple, Fossil or Samsung. I didn't want to be tied to my charger every night, so I grabbed this one instead and got it for a full week." Battery costs. The always-on display is bright enough to be seen day or night, but it's the technology that helps it save power compared to high-end aluminum screens. It charges very quickly, so if I forget to charge it I can just charge it quickly. A 10-minute charge gives me about 30% battery life 5) Smart features The fact that Garmin has started to put smart features into their watches is amazing Yes, You can't do everything you want on your watch, e.g. B. Talk to Siri. View pictures or make a phone call. But why are you even looking at your watch and searching for all this? Is it really necessary when our phones are so advanced right now? I get all the selected phone notifications, I can read texts and view emails, and that's really all I need. Remember, fitness first, then smartwatches. All in all this is an amazing fitness watch and I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a new watch. Totally worth the money spent and for my needs I'd say it's a big upgrade over the Apple/Samsung. I can read texts and check emails and that's really all I need.
