I use it as a tea press and it's perfect for that; so much so that i bought a second one and it has replaced all my other kettles and brewing tools. The glass handle and lack of plastic are hard to find and give it a premium look. I see a few comments about the likes/dislikes of the silicone base. I think it looks and works well but for me I just removed it. This gives the press a clean, minimalist look. Strange moment - I didn't find anything to indicate washing in the dishwasher other than the symbol on one of the pictures. The jar should be fine, but I was wondering if it would end up damaging the finish of the lid or removing volume markings on the jar. As for me, I took the higher route and just hand washed it despite my everything goes in the dishwasher style. It comes with extra colanders and a cleaning sponge on the handle to tidy up the kitchen. Don't be put off by bad grammar on the site. It looks like a well made item.
