I bought this to cut through a piece of 16 gauge stainless steel. Low and slow with cutting oil and it cuts through as fast as you would expect from a stainless steel cordless drill. I then used it with a large two-handed drill on 3" x 3/16" mild steel pipe and it cut so well at about 200 rpm that the drill was difficult to hold. In one case I had to cut through to weld a pipe and it wasn't a problem at all. Fell out after several cuts. The saw still looks like new. It's carbide, so I was careful not to heat the teeth, which failed them. As for durability, who knows. It depends if you know how to cut metal with carbide. Mine looks brand new after the project so I have no idea how it will last.
