5 stars if it works but one star overall. Customer service plays a big role in the "5-year guarantee". I gave it 5 stars because it was great while it lasted. The heat gradually got less and less hot over the course of 6 months and now it hardly burns at all. Now there is no better way than just using the ceiling separately. This is my SECOND solar heated blanket. I bought this last one thinking the previous one was just a bad seed as it only lasted about 6 months. Yves had the same time and did the same. I googled youtube and everything to find out what it could be and how to fix it. It's not a backup. As Sunbeams customer service troubleshooting steps are to unplug from the wall, unplug from the ceiling, plug back into the ceiling, plug back into the wall and make sure the connection is secure and correct is. And if you really want to take advantage of their "5 year guarantee", that's a TOTAL JOKE! They send you this extremely long checklist that you must follow in order to PREPARE and send in for repair. It's $20 less to repair just for shipping and handling because they're so cheap they won't send you a new one or give you a shipping label to send it back even if you're willing to put your credit card on file Purchase new from Revain. And if I really wanted to pay that much for shipping, I don't want to WAIT ONE MONTH for them to send it back to me. Oh, and there's still a chance they'll still charge you if they decide it's not the manufacturer's problem, but the fault of mishandling. They use a "5 year guarantee" to force you to buy, but once you try it you'll quickly realize it's not worth the time and money and you might as well get $20 Spend dollars more to buy a brand new one. I expected a lot more from a company as big as Sunbeam, but this is a joke. I will never buy this product from them again.
