These tie out cables seem to be very well made but use a hard plastic to coat the cable wire. If your dog chews on things, you probably don't want these tie out cable since one the dog has chewed the plastic off the remaining plastic will rip your hands up - my wife found out the hard way. We bought two of these tie outs to use inside the house. If these tie out cables were to be used outside in extremely cold weather, I'm guessing the hard plastic would crack. If they made these tie out cables with a softer plastic I think the product would be much better and more user friendly.
