Review on High-Sensitivity CCTV Surveillance Microphone 2-Pack for Outdoor Security, DVR Recording, RCA Connectivity, Amplified Pickup, with External Camera Sound by Rick Rogers

I installed 2 of these mics outdoors under the eaves of the house and under the porch. I bought 3 packs. Both exceeded my expectations for outdoor mics at such a reasonable price. I've adjusted the sensitivity on both and can pick up quiet voices from 30'. This is a security mic, tiny and not for music, so some digital artifacts are present at high sensitivity settings (possibly camera/compression). The bird songs are quite clear, but not perfect (4 stars). I had DC (12V) on both locations and am waiting for a 12V POE splitter for another location. The male and female connectors allow the existing 5.5 x 2.1mm 12V power supply to "pass" through the microphone before powering the camera. The actual microphone pickup is approximately 7mm/0.25" in diameter and 32mm/1.25" in length to allow access to the sensitivity screw. Not tested: performance in wind, prolonged use (>5 days), direct water exposure, or fault tolerance (e.g. mud patches).
