If your laptop has a connector that goes into the back, I suggest placing the magnets a little higher on the lid than the instructions say. The reason for this is that when my laptop is plugged in, the cable pushes one side of the monitor up where the other side stays down, causing the monitor to tilt. This is normal, except that the monitor pulls even more when it's open and it looks like it's about to detach. If I sat at my desk all the time I could probably plug in a small stand and that might make a difference, but I usually sit on my couch and there's nowhere for the stand to stand.
