I have been using this mailbox for over a year and there are a few things to note. First, the paint is peeling off most of the outside edges, sides, front and bottom. Although it is negligible at the moment, it will soon start to flake off completely. For a box that advertises it can withstand the elements, the color doesn't seem to do the trick. Second, this box is very difficult for the postman to understand. If the mail is too thick, too long, or doesn't fit the size of a normal letter, it almost never ends up in the lower security area, but gets stuck or clogged in the upper area, where there is no anti-theft protection. Most of the time I am surprised that the door is closed at all and then when I go to open it because I see the mail is there but not down it bends the mail that is there or doesn't open very wide at all . The part of the box that keeps people from sticking their hand in the bottom keeps most letters from falling on the floor unless the postman puts the mail in the box one piece at a time, which I'm sure you never do will do. If you're given bubble wrap that's a little larger than a manila envelope, forget it, it doesn't go into the bottom of the box, it ends up in the small area between the door and the protective panel inside. Postal workers will not try to put it in the box at all, even if it could fit so the box is secure. I will be replacing this crate as soon as possible, most likely trading in for someone else. who gets one or two normal-sized letters every day and no packages at all, I think the box is just right for that. For us who have received larger items in the mail, this box DOES NOT WORK AT ALL.
