The old one is easy to remove by unscrewing the 2 screws on the edge plate. You must do this to have enough slack to pull the assembly out. Then remove the bolt handle. It is fixed with an AC clamp. I just took a pair of pliers and pulled it out. I put in a new one but didn't use the clip. Not necessarily. From the inside, unscrew the 4 screws and push the assembly in and out of the door to remove. Pour a little oil into the keyhole and mechanism latch. Insert the new one in the opposite direction that you took the old one out. Fasten with a screw, then attach the plate. Using the blue tape, align the mechanism so that it is perpendicular to the end of the door and slides together. Install the 3 remaining bolts, tighten and check like car eyelets. Install a new bow handle. Our old door assembly was replaced because the key lock no longer worked. After replacing it, I found that the old one had become stuck. The new one opens and closes effortlessly. The keyholes have a small moon on one side. To insert the key, place the key at a slight angle so it slides into the keyhole cover, then turn the key. If you try to insert the key directly, it won't work. I think that makes the choice difficult. All in all, I did it first time, both in and out in less than an hour. I will buy another one and keep it as a spare.
