They are VERY thick. It says so on the packaging, but we didn't understand it until we picked up the packaging. A precise description would actually keep us from buying it. We had to send them back. They are not suitable for people without gaps, they are too difficult to use and even the floss does not go through the teeth, they can cause serious damage if you try to use them forcefully. You have to have a really big gap to deploy them, otherwise they just can't be used. Can't comment on the feel of the materials, the guide is too thick and even some of the floss can't fit through the teeth. Do not buy unless you have large gaps between your teeth.
