Good waterproof liners can be used with a wash.
The ink in the markers is definitely good. I personally tested them against other inks and there was no smearing when applied with a water-saturated brush. The only downside to these tech pens is that very small nibs can break if you don't handle them carefully. So watch your pressure as you go down to the smaller sizes so your markers will last longer, as they say. These markers don't last the longest and I would recommend more established brands like Sakura if you want more consistent and higher quality results, but for the price they're great especially for these
