So I switched from using a blender to this ice cream maker. My friends have a bigger ice cream maker but this one is perfect for me. On my first attempt at making ice cream, I decided to make vanilla with chocolate chips. Okay, so I took all the advice from the reviews and froze the bowl for two days for the first time. Then when I was ready to make ice cream I poured the milk and cream into separate glasses and put them back in the fridge just because he said to keep them cold when I was done and ready to start after I already did measured out the ingredients and set them all aside. I did this so that when I was ready to take the bowl out of the freezer I wouldn't waste time measuring and stuffing because I've read that the bowl will start defrosting immediately so I didn't want to give that time . ok when i was done i took my mixing bowl and mixed all the ingredients except for the chocolate chips which i left on the fig until done. So after blending, I took the bowl out of the freezer, placed it on the base of the ice cream maker, poured in the blended ingredients and pushed the button. I let it sit for 25 minutes, then five minutes before mixing, I added the chocolate chips and let it sit. Blend for the last five minutes. It was so thick and looked creamy. So when it was over 30 minutes, I put the ice cream into a couple of small sturdy screw-top bowls, divided them evenly, and then popped them in the freezer. It was airtight and then put in the back of the freezer and I couldn't wait so had to try it after about an hour. That was great. very tasty and creamy, like ice cream from the store. Even better was the ice cream that sat in the freezer overnight. i love this car I've already bought all the flavors of the extract to try more. Next time I'll try mint chips. My friend suggested vanilla paste instead of extract so I'll check that out too. oh i bought a referral cuisinart 20 here on amazon. I'm so glad I got it and my friends are already wanting to try it. I'm going to make a strawberry for a friend who asked for it so I'm off to try it after the mint chip I have.
