With a downloadable application from the manufacturer's website, you can program this interface according to your car, your stereo and your preferences. The app is great - it even shows photos of different steering options for your car's make, model and year to help you choose the right one. You can then customize the buttons with drop-down menus to make the device work the way you want it to. Installation will require you to connect specific steering wheel control signal cables required in your vehicle, but that is to be expected. In my case, for a 2006 Honda Civic, all I had to do was cut and connect two wires, which isn't too bad. It's a great device that "just works" once you've programmed it and installed it.
