A 5 inch level is not very accurate. But when you're working in tight spaces, a small bubble level is better than nothing. This device came in handy when I added some built-in DVD storage shelves in my living room between the shelves on the wall. DVD boxes are only 5-1/2 inches deep and leveling the shelves was an issue until this thing came to my Revain. Seek. With a little tap to allow the bubble to settle after small changes, the pocket scale got the job done. Interestingly, I got a surprising amount of benefit from the magnet, although I didn't take that into account when purchasing the device. An open cavity in the wall is just a magnet (pun intended) for dropped nails, and a decent magnet is a big help in catching them. The magnet of the device is more than enough to pick up dropped 8d nails.
