Edit: The wires in the coiled cord are too weak to withstand even casual use. One of the conductors broke the solder in the connector last year, after a thorough repair of the conductor and strengthening of the strain relief it broke again a year later. The conductors are made of "wire", which is primarily fiber rather than copper, making a solid solder joint extremely difficult to achieve. The OEM microphone is used again in my PRO520XL. It's even cooler than it looks in the photos. Comfortable feeling, stylish bear paw embossing on the screen. I'm glad I took the risk, I'm just sorry that Uniden didn't build a mic as good as this into the PRO520XL.
