The pin is not very high quality, cheaply made but looks good and adds character and style. The back of the robot is shaped like a pin, which I don't like, but it works well. The chamber was painted with enamel, which was kept very neat and clean and well applied. They are packaged in a cute box which makes them more gift worthy but the boxes (I have ordered a few needles from this company) are not always well made. When they are, it looks a little classier, and when they aren't, it looks cheap. In the box, the needle is packed in a small plastic bag with a zipper. It seems cheap to me when the jewelry comes in a plastic bag. The packaging does not prevent the pen from sliding in the box.
