I bought a Taylor thermometer similar to this one and the Taylor thermometer only lasted about 4 months before the probe came out of the case. However, they replaced it with no problem, but in the meantime I needed a thermometer so I ordered this one. I'm amazed at the quality and the fact that you get two of these with a built in battery and a spare for each. The kit included two silicone brushes. A nice feature that I wasn't aware of is the built in magnet so I can hang it on the fridge for easy access. The backlight doesn't turn on when you open it, but a quick press and it lights up for easier reading, it stays on for about 10 seconds, then you have to press it again. It will turn off automatically after 10 minutes, but press the button and turn it on again. Definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a thermometer or two.
