This light was perfect for what I needed. When I received it I immediately plugged it in to charge for my next morning ride. I noticed that when I plugged it in, there was no flashing or other indication of charging, but I assumed that was the case and there was no defect. Fast forward a few weeks: I take a morning walk and 20 minutes later the light goes out even though I charged it all night. That's when I realized that the entire time I was using it, I was consuming energy from the original charge it came with. I tried charging it with whatever compatible cables I had at home but to no avail. I didn't break it or drop it or anything, so it's safe to say the lamp was delivered to me broken. After some research I found out that Niterider is known for using cheap parts, especially the USB charging ports they use on their flashlights, so I wouldn't recommend their brand until they improve the quality of their parts.
