Review on πŸ”₯ Replacement Inner Water Heater Tank - Atwood AT91059 by Steve Guillen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Unusable due to the way the combustion pan is attached to the tank.

Step 15 in the replacement instructions is "Insert the tank into the combustion chamber. Place large gaskets around the large combustion tubes, then slide the metal retaining rings over the tubes and tap them until they are snug against the back of the combustion chamber. There are actually four metal retaining rings - two on the back of the combustion chamber and two on the front. At the factory they probably have a special clamp to hold the tank in place when using a hydraulic press to place rings on large combustion tubes. In the field I had to use a hammer and a small chisel to 'hit' the rings against the large combustion tubes. The rings are so tight that this is almost impossible in the field. I ended up putting them on, but it took about four hours and a thousand "clicks". Extremely difficult!
