I find a good saddlebag essential when riding your bike in all weather conditions, be it on-road, off-road or mountain biking. Everyone should carry an extra tube, some patches, a multi-tool, and a few other items that depend on personal preference. Without a small backpack, you could take a long walk home or a long drive back to your car. I prefer to keep my essentials in a small wedge backpack and Topeak makes some of the nicest bags on the market. The bag is made of beautiful, durable 1200 denier material. I believe it has a thin piece of plastic sewn in to form the bottom of the bag. The back of the bag features a strip of reflective Scotchlite material that makes it glow when light hits it. It is held to the bike with two quick release buckles that attach to the seat frame and a strong Velcro strap that attaches around the seat post. If you need a little more space, it has an expandable zipper that makes for a decent amount of space. That's more than enough for an additional handset. There is a loop on the back that you can use to attach a bike light. At the bottom they added some elastics that would have been great for holding an emergency poncho. I don't think you could find a much prettier bag to carry your essentials. The whole weighs 4 1/2 ounces. If this review was helpful, please click the appropriate link.
