Review on Bucktool BD4801: Power Your Projects With A Bench Belt And Disc Sander by Robert Helstrom

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Decent value (Photos)

Things of Note:1.) MADE IN CHINA2.) Most of this is metal of some sort, Aluminum, cast iron.3.) Can be mounted on table or bench4.) You will need to calibrate and potentially replace some parts of accessories to make them really usableI have added a number of photos for reference. I have not used this extensively so this review is an initial review with some small usage. I have mounted this to a board for portability and stability. For the price it has so far performed as a value for the small bits of usage I have and am going to use it in the near future. I hope to provide another review or update this one after using it a bit more. Also, this is my first desktop belt sander so take this review for what it is worth. I do think they could improve a few things with little to not extra cost and it would improve the valuePROS:1.) Decent Price2.) Packaging was good and nothing was broken or bent3.) Disc Sander was not bent or out or round4.) Works and runs pretty good5.) The manual parts diagram is pretty goodCONS:1.) The belt sander dust cover needs a screw on the bottom2.) The instructions on how to rotate the belt sander are not obvious3.) The Mitre gauge track is too thin relative to the slot

Pros
  • Works well looks like other manufacturers models but at a slightly cheeper cost
Cons
  • The BD4801 produces a lot of noise, so it might not be very suitable for use in a shared workspace
