Original review below. The cable worked great when I bought it and then just died this week. I don't know why but this week I bought another one from the same company (Cable Matters) to replace it. It seemed like saving money was a good idea, but maybe not if it accidentally broke. It's not like I'm constantly plugging and unplugging cables. After they bonded, they sat like this for 18 months. I'll give them a second chance and see how the new one works. [I needed this to complete a long daisy chain of external Thunderbolt drive enclosures and my high resolution monitor for my Mac Mini. I had to remove the drives from the Mac and the old 3ft cable was no longer used. I tried another brand but couldn't set it up properly (The monitor didn't work at full resolution. This cable worked great. It looks good and seems solid.)
