I have a 2018 Colorado ZR2 diesel, the stock transmission cooler is complete crap. (A way to save $50 on a $50,000 GM truck, you cheaper *******) I typically see 190-205 degrees in daily driving, 220-230 in 4WD SUVs and above 230 while towing just 4500 pounds. Installed it at 15,000 miles and found the transmission fluid wasn't as red as it should be. (Yes, GM says the DEX-VI works up to 270 degrees, but are the internals? Also, these new transmissions run clutch-on-clutch rather than clutch-on-steel, which causes more heat when shifting and rapid temperature swings generated) In short, I added this cooler after the cooler built into the radiator. I just rode almost 4 kilo pounds over a few hundred miles on a 7-8% mountain slope, normal temps would read 235+, after installing this cooler I couldn't get it to read 185 on an 8% incline at 65 miles per hour to brake almost 5 km. The exhaust fan I added wasn't even plugged in! It works like a charm, smoother shifting under load and gets MUCH cooler. (no, I also don't recommend using cheap plastic zip ties to attach this to the condenser)
