Description of 🧊 B&M 70266 SuperCooler AT Cooler

Rigid stacked-plate design is resistant to damage, and much better at cooling than ordinary 'fin and tube' coolers. Constructed from black finished lightweight aluminum alloy for maximum corrosion resistance. 11" x 8" x 1-1/2" racing model is rated at 20,500 BTU, and pressure tested to 200 PSI. Fluxless, oven brazed construction is vibration resistant. Multiple oil flow paths for maximum cooling efficiency.

Compressor aftercooler

Installed as an aftercooler for a 60 gallon air compressor. So far, so good. Time will tell about the durability. Appears to be well constructed. Plate type with angled air channels between the plates. Inlet and outlet with 1/2 inch NPT threads. Lined internally with automotive epoxy primer to protect against moisture that may build up. Works well as an aftercooler. Brings the compressor discharge air to room temperature 10" AC axial fan 230V

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Obsolete

So far, so good! for parts

I use it as an aftercooler for my 60 gallon 155 psi air compressor. I will say that this does an amazing job in terms of greatly reducing air temperature - the air compressor pump gets about 300F, but the copper tubing coming out of the radiator is only about 100F. I installed the radiator on a shroud , which protects the compressor belt, and it gets some airflow, but I don't use electric fans or anything to really cool things down. Time will tell if it holds up, but for now it does. Works…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, everything is fine

That does not fit! - Replacement parts

What I didn't like is that absolutely no one has fittings that go from your factory lines to the 1/2" fittings on the radiator even though the factory lines line up perfectly with the radiator . let me save some time Quick release thread GM 9/16-18unf. I got a 1/2 x 1/4 brass bushing, cut the inside to 9/16-18 and enlarged that for the o-ring as well. Factory lines now fit. Absolut has come a long way, but with no changes to standard transmission lines. The cooler seemed to lower the…

  • Easy to use

Not for the gearbox but for the air compressor.

I bought this B&M 70266 SuperCooler to cool and dry the air from my air compressor before going to the tank and it works great. As you can see from the picture, I don't have an "industrial" compressor, but I use it for roofing, framing and some light auto work, so I wanted to save my tank and prevent as much moisture from getting in as possible. possible. This cooler allows the air to cool and collect the moisture in the drip and dryer, giving me cool, dry air in the tank. I took the temp of…

Works like a charm for engine cooling and air conditioning

I have a 2018 Colorado ZR2 diesel, the stock transmission cooler is complete crap. (A way to save $50 on a $50,000 GM truck, you cheaper *******) I typically see 190-205 degrees in daily driving, 220-230 in 4WD SUVs and above 230 while towing just 4500 pounds. Installed it at 15,000 miles and found the transmission fluid wasn't as red as it should be. (Yes, GM says the DEX-VI works up to 270 degrees, but are the internals? Also, these new transmissions run clutch-on-clutch rather than…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥

  • Expensive

Love it! Thank you B&M!

My 6L80E inherently seems to get hot all the time, especially when towing a trailer. I'm a GM guy but the external cooler is a joke. Thanks for the GM tow package. So far I'm thrilled! During my summer test drive, the temperature wasn't exactly Arizona (pictured below), but I immediately noticed a huge drop in the average transmission temperature, around 30 degrees! I can't wait to get my little pendant and see how it reacts. Durable aluminum alloy with 1/2 pipe thread connections. Black finish

Pros
  • Constructed from lightweight aluminum alloy with a black finish for maximum corrosion resistance
Cons
  • Vulgarity

I used some aluminum brackets to make a solid mount for the radiator myself

I ordered this to complement the factory radiator on my '09 Tahoe. I used some aluminum brackets to make a strong mount for the cooler itself. The particular cooler I bought had 1/2" female NPT fittings. I bought some AN-NPT fittings and used braided steel tubing, to connect everything. After installation I saw a decent drop in transmission temp.Ahead of the radiator I averaged 178 degrees with an OAT of 72.After installation, even on an 85 degree day,the transmission temp never exceeded 160…

Pros
  • Flux free, oven brazed, vibration resistant construction

Poor mammajama in engine cooling and air conditioning

The car I used this radiator on has a history of heating issues. It's a twin-turbo Mustang with a huge FMIC, air conditioning and engine. That means I've got a lot of cooling ahead. FMIC reduced airflow and took up a lot of space. During the southern summer heat -Louisiana, the air conditioner condenser was generating enough heat to transfer to the cooling system. The engine started to heat up, then the transmission started to heat up as the transmission cooler got hotter and hotter. .Here's…

Pros
  • 11" x 8" x 1-1/2" 20,500 BTU race model and pressure tested to 200 psi
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options
