My fan problem was solved, the motor didn't work after replacing it and the battery was bad, replaced in about 10 minutes, just a Phillips head screw. I used a short and stocky driver. This seems to be a common problem as they age on these vehicles. I have a theory. This CAN drain the battery as it is connected directly to DC with or without the ignition on. It is essentially a variable speed solid state relay. So if one of the MOSFETs inside is leaking it can pass a small amount of current and slowly drain your battery, and if your battery leaks or gets old it can drain it much faster.
