Got this and assembled it in less than 3 minutes. Easy to put together, it has different textures for my cats and they seem interested in it thus far. They haven't really used the scratching portion with the rope, but as cats are, they are being particular and curious enough to smell it and 'experiment' with it. In other words, I think they are trying to 'get to know it'. I believe this will help most cats, especially those who have claws as some of ours do, that it will keep them from the couch. We located it in the living room.I do like the various texture of carpet and rope, with a solid base. This thing isn't very tall, so there are no safety concerns as far as I can tell. Only time will tell if my cats use it to its fullest extent!
