I usually drink espresso made with ECM Synchronika; but from time to time you want to drink a strong cup of what is now fashionably referred to as "pour-over" coffee, i.e. filtered coffee. After playing around with Melitta cones and filters for decades, I decided to give this one a try. It looks impressive and I use Espro tampers and steamers which are great products. Unfortunately, I find coffee prepared with this device (and the accompanying filter paper) to be weak. I use about 20 grams of grist straight from the mill for an 8-ounce pot; and the result is still just a frustratingly thin concoction. I'll continue to improve my technique, but I don't have high hopes for a satisfactory trophy. Let's go back to the drawing board.
