great bar with easy setup

I set my bar up in a door jamb with just the gel pads initially for stretching 1 shoulder area. I decided to see if it was strong enough in that configuration to hold mt weight (170)lbs. I was able to hang or even do pull ups. The bar is very sturdy for what I need and possibly more once my arm/shoulder get stronger. I didn't want a permanent or semi permanent mount so I could move it up or down easily for different stretches/exercises and this definitely works for that.

Pros
  • I weigh almost 200 Lbs and this bar is VERY sturdy. Easy to install and comfortable to use.
Cons
  • May damage door frame

Excellent pullup or chinup bar

I moved into a new apartment with doors that had very slim frames and my old "over-the-door" mounted pull-up bar was no longer usable.I was very concerned about purchasing what I would call "shower curtain" type pull up bars, but this model is actually a bit different and superior to those older designs.1. The metal and other materials are quite substantial and should be very durable in the long run.2. The bar locks into place by rotating two side pieces with a strong metal screw piece in the…

Pros
  • For my 10 year old grandson, perfect! Easy to install and a sturdy fit.
Cons
  • Had to make it tight, but in doing so, the door jamb got pushed in. Had to return it.

Quality customer service

I had ordered this based off the different installation options. I wanted something that I didn’t have to drill into the walls. I installed it with the friction option and it works very well. I just double check it before use. I’m 140 lbs and it holds me without having to drill into the door frame. I also love that you can close the door! A lot of bars don’t allow you to.When I first ordered it, it wouldn’t unscrew on one side. I contacted the company and they replaced it free of charge…

Pros
  • Super easy to install
Cons
  • May not be suitable for outdoor use

Pretty good - my new review

I like the design better than the pull up bars that go over the trim. This one can be used in a larger range of doorways. The design could be improved by having the bars lock in place. The bars can loosen if you use one side of the bar, pay attention when installing so that the bar will tighten when you pull up instead of loosen. The cups at the end prevent the bar from falling if the bar does become a little loose which is good but can be improved.

Pros
  • Seems to be made of good materials.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with certain physical limitations

Take measurements before purchasing

It's not very good if your walls are too far apart or too close together. You have to figure out if it will fit on the wall you plan on using it on before you buy it. That was my mistake

Pros
  • Everything was perfect with this product. Very happy.
Cons
  • May require additional padding for comfort

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Padding placement off

Very happy with this product's ease of installation and sturdiness without damage to the door frame. The only thing to be aware of is that the padded areas do not extend far enough, so you'll be doing your pushups/pull ups on bare metal. NBD, but definitely a design flaw.

Pros
  • I received my package on time, but it is missing the 8 screws to fix it on the doorway.
Cons
  • I had an impression that the door frame would crack when I pull up

Good pull up bar good for me

Reasonably easy to install, reasonably sturdy. I wouldn't advise installing this without the screw-mounted brackets.

Pros
  • Strong enough to bear my body weight. Mounts securely in doorway. Diameter of bar good for secure grip.
Cons
  • May not fit all types of doors

Great Product! best in my review

I have a house built in 1920. The door frames are thicker and the trim much wider and you cant use those hook on trim pull-up bars. This was easy to install (semi-permanent).

Pros
  • Functions just as I wanted. Easy to install and remove if needed.
Cons
  • It damaged my doorframe.

Great but minor issue.

I like the product but the mid mount came broken. It's the little black circle. I don't feel like retuning the entire assembly but I am not sure how to contact the seller for a replacement

Pros
  • good product but didnt work out for us and our doorframe
Cons
  • Seems flimsy. Bar spins as used and thus loosens.

Good for the price on my review.

Only real problem I had was getting the bar to be even but it's worth what you pay and it doesn't really get in the way May interfere with door opening and closing.

Pros
  • Pull ups on the move
Cons
  • May interfere with door opening and closing

Dangerous product best in my review

I bough this and installed it according to the instructions. While I was using it the bar unscrewed and I fell on my back breaking a rib. Four weeks later, with hospital bills, missed work, and medication, I am still in pain but slowly recovering. This is a ridiculously unsafe product! I wish I could give it less stars.

Pros
  • Very nice. I like it. Comfortable to the hands
Cons
  • Needs longer screws. Other than that. Good product

Be careful good for me

Why three stars? Not because of the quality. It’s a good piece of metal that holds up well. Problem is, the jackscrew mechanism designed to tighten it to the door casing has no limiter or lock. Each time one mounts or dismounts the bar, torque (spinning action) on the bar subjects the doorframe to tremendous outward force. This is fine if you are aware you cannot spin the bar, but not everyone is, and I have a ruined door casing to prove it.

Pros
  • Very nice!
Cons
  • May not be durable enough for heavy use

Nice pull up bar best in my review

I installed it in my room and I use it sometimes. I am super tall and it is not so fun to pull up with bended knees but it is good to have it when it is cold outside and you need a quick workout. It is convenient to have it in your house and use it whenever you feel like.

Pros
  • Very solid, easy to attach to door jam
Cons
  • Not suitable for wide doorways

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If you’re thinking about it get it!

One of the better pull up bars out there for cost and efficiency. Very easy to install in to the doorway. Have tested hanging and doing multiple pull ups at different weights it’s held up well. Good foam grips comfortable without forming calluses.

Pros
  • Pull up bar is easy to fit and use. Sturdy. My kids enjoy hanging on this bar.
Cons
  • Tends to slip from time to time but otherwise not bad

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Over all it's good, but the piece pictured came broken.

I have to go to Home Depot to get that piece replaced. I don't want to bother with sending the whole thing back for it, but it is something to consider. Overall the cups that attach for pull-ups works great and I don't foresee any problems with it.

Pros
  • This was very easy to set up and seems very sturdy so far.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for beginners

Very good bar (but a relatively permanent installation)

This is the third pull up bar I've had, but this first of this type. The others hook over the top of the door frame and then also push on the vertical door molding. That type feels fairly secure, but they're a minor pain to put up and take down, which is required every time the door is to be closed. This bar is a relatively more permanent installation, but it looks lots better and the door isn't obstructed. However, if you're so tall that you're likely to bump your head on the bar when it's…

Pros
  • Works Good
Cons
  • May not be suitable for high-intensity interval training

Great Purchase: my feedback

Great over the door bar for pullups. Easy to install and very sturdy! Would definitely buy again hands down. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Very sturdy and super easy to install. Definitely recommend it
Cons
  • Can limit range of motion during pull-ups

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good enough but may damage the doorframe in the long run

The product is of decent quality. It may damage the doorframe because of the installation (also depends on the user's weight). The rubber part is a little bit too thick for people with small hands. The segments rotate a little when holding with hands, so make sure you check the security of the ends every time before using it. I pair it with a pull up assist band.

Pros
  • Just what I expected
Cons
  • May not be comfortable for some individuals to use

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Just dont buy in my review

This product will only work where the door frame and door jam are next to each other. Most doorframes (as mine are) are installed with a small gap between the door frame and the door jamb (about 1/4 inch gap). This allows an installer to adjust fit. Because of this gap this pull up bar cannot be properly secured to hold full body weight. If you rotate the bar to make a tighter grip you ultimately crush the wood of the doorframe breaking the wood and having to replace the door frame. If you try…

Pros
  • Great workout tool
Cons
  • May restrict movement during other exercises

Great pull-up bar! on my review.

I bought one for my kids almost 2 years ago not knowing what to expect and they loved it that I had to buy another a few months later so they each had one. Very easy install, sturdy, and holds up great to the kids have pull-up competitions when they're supposed to be getting ready for bed.Would definitely recommend compared to high priced bars.

Pros
  • nice
Cons
  • Difficult to adjust to desired length
