It costs nothing after updating the app

I almost bought a well-known competitor but a friend told me to try Inkbird first. The reviews were positive, the price was better and the shipping was faster so I figured it would be an award winning BBQ chicken dinner. Minor complaints: No owner's manual or instructions are supplied, and I couldn't find any online. . At least it had instructions on how to connect to your home WiFi. I don't know why the silicone sticks are colored because after the first smoke they take on a sort of brownish-grey hue. There may be a cleaning method to restore the color, but unfortunately there are no instructions on how to care for the probes. The main criticism: the Inkbird application has been updated and is now completely useless for monitoring the chef remotely, that's the whole point. Buy a WiFi thermometer! It doesn't send notifications unless your phone is unlocked and the app isn't open, and I noticed a significant delay in notifications even when the app is open. Last time I used it I had to restart the app every time my phone got locked. Bottom line: if they don't fix the app, the Inkbird thermometer is useless. However, I will never recommend any Inkbird product. I look forward to my next smoke with a proven competitor that is more expensive but worth it for its reliability.
