I bought this thermometer just before I tested positive for Covid. Both I and my children were ill and I needed a reliable and accurate thermometer. I brought it to the ER appointment and it was about 1° higher than the digital oral thermometer used in the ER. Knowing that I can use it in the comfort of my own home, with a slight variance, made it worth the purchase. It is very easy to use and the results are permanent. According to the instructions, there is a cool-down period. So if you get several very different readings, you may not be giving your device enough time to recalibrate itself. It gets four stars because it's not entirely accurate, but other than that I'm very happy to have it.
