Oh my god, that's a lot of chrome.

An interesting combination of steels if I've ever seen one. HAST knives (blade) are made of patented matrix powder steel [Fe (77.45%), Cr (20.0%), Ni (2.0%), C (0.45%). , S&P(0.1%)] According to their answer in the question section. It is clear that these blades achieve their hardness from the extreme chromium content. Interestingly, no matter where I looked, I couldn't find a patent for the supposedly "patented" steel anywhere. I've been looking for what they call haste, the cooking club, couldn't really find anything. In terms of ergonomics, this is a bit ambiguous for me. The handle seems a bit, I don't know, rectangular, especially at the bottom? Honestly, it looks more ergonomic than it really is. I'm not saying it's uncomfortable, but it's far from the most natural knife I've ever held in my hands. In terms of sharpness, it was pretty sharp out of the box. I polished the edge with a thin ceramic rod sharpener which made the blade look really fake. When you consider that high hardness blades are difficult to sharpen with standard methods. Arkansas stone users might want to bring some really hard steels. Ceramic rods or diamonds are usually best for high hardness blades. So I don't like it. Not a bad knife, it's sharp, easy to clean and looks good just not quite what I would do, especially with a handle. It definitely has a place on the "knife wall" but I don't know. Time will tell if he makes it onto the favorites list.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
