Review on πŸ”§ ARES 70344-1/2-Inch Drive Black 9.84-Inch Aluminum Socket Organizer - Efficient Tool Storage for 10 Sockets, Keeping Your Toolbox Neat and Organized - Secure Rail Prevents Socket Slippage by Patrick Cooney

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sturdy handle, folds well, doesn't tip over, non-magnetic, no "twist lock " but holds tight

8 drive and 1/2, normal and percussion, special Torx and Allen nuts. You will get an image. I've used old school sliding metal clips/rails and they are bad because they don't hold the sockets in place, especially the big impact sockets, they tip over and tend to be a nuisance. So I tried the Torin magnetic base and twist-lock rails and they work well, but the magnetic base can be an issue, twisting to lock can be an issue with smaller heads, and Torins are often out of stock. I tried ARES splints. and bought 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch. They hold all sizes, don't tip over, and slide easily over my metal tool box without magnetic feet. You really have to tug on the magnet-based rails, and this can make it difficult to quickly organize your toolbox. Magnetic tracks have their place and I use them on car frames, trailers and even bikes from time to time. The downside to this practice is that you remember leaving a set of 12 3/i8 heads attached to the frame before I hit the road with my car or bike. I removed a 12 piece rail with 3/8" metric heads on a 100 yard stretch. Yes, come on, say it - the movement of the instrument. on a desk or in a tool box and even though they tip over it does NOT look like the old metal brackets/rails. - Vibrant colors - Holds sockets firmly - Lower price than Torin and other rails, especially with special ARES Revain price offers. .-Not "screw cap". I thought it was a scam but it's not. 1/4" Torin swivel rails are a nuisance with smaller 1/4" heads and greasy hands as they require A LOT of Turing power. Attach them to a Torin rail. Another problem with Torin's "Twist Lock" is that if you forget to screw the connectors tight, they fly when you grab the rail. Don't fly away. Con-Non Magnetic - these are pros and cons depending on the situation as I said above - is all I can think of but I've only been using these splints for a couple of weeks. If I see any good or bad habits, that's not all. I hope this helps - Tretiak
