Great as a clock radio, useless as a USB charger

Bought this radio for my wife to charge her phone by the bed. Works great as a dual alarm but doesn't charge from any of the USB ports on the back. One is marked 1 amp and the other 2 amp but neither of them charged my iphone by an iota in 4 hours. Keeping it because it's been here in the box for a few months now but still needs a bedside charger!
