Review on Renewed Panasonic KX-TGC222S DECT 6.0 2-Handset Landline Telephone with Answering Machine, Illuminated Keypad, Amber Backlit Display by Eric Broad

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good, comprehensive features for a cordless phone with answering machine and two handsets

Replacement (previously another brand replacement) for a 2002 repurchased Panasonic model in place of a basic answering machine The machine handset (#1) lost all ability to make a able to hold a charge when removed from the base and has all the basic features required of a cordless landline phone plus a fairly decent array of 'extra' features such as speakerphone, ringtone selection and the ability to more than not only mute ringtones on incoming calls, but also keypad noise, number lock, etc., and since it's certified refurbished, the price isn't very high. Given the direction landline telephony is taking in the US and I need a landline phone it seems like a no-brainer to buy a more expensive model brand new albeit a right off the bat replacement by another brand which turned out to be a bit disappointing but me didn't go back (decided to sell to a neighbor) was probably a bad decision, it cost so little that returning it was less attractive than just selling to a neighbor. The phones are a little smaller than I'm used to and are very light, came with two but can (I think) be expanded to add up to 5 additional phones on the same phone line if required. Additional telephones should only be plugged into one wall socket, while the base station must be plugged into both a wall socket and a telephone wall socket. This model has an answering machine.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very expensive
