Where have you been all my life?

Oh how I wish I had them since I started sewing, oh so long ago! No more burned fingers and SO FAST AND EASY! I'm in love! I've read that some people don't think they can handle it, but come on! They are basically METAL and all they do is run soft tissue through them. Unless you step on them or drive your car over them on purpose, I can't imagine them breaking. I've even used them with flannel and they worked great. I like that there is a little gap in the middle where the inside out fabric comes out. By making sure the folded fabric meets in this gap when ironing, you can easily make sure you don't move off center. Be sure to cut the end at an angle to start them and iron any joining seams before you start (for easier pulling). Also keep in mind that when folding over for a double band, you want one side slightly shorter than the other so you can securely grab both sides as you sew. Use the stem for the best creases. A sentence with "awl" is not required. Just use the seam ripper to start threading the fabric, it works great. And if that wasn't enough, they arrived in just TWO DAYS! And finally they are in the metric. If you cut your fabric just under 2 inches wide and use the blue (largest) tape, you'll end up with the perfect 1/2 inch wide tape! Don't hesitate - YOU NEED IT!
