I used the Coach diaper bag my mother in law gave me and it's good and definitely looks more fashionable than this one, but it wasn't easy to carry (it was over my shoulder) especially when I took care of all the things you need to carry with you when you have a baby; and trying to get my newborn in and out of the car while carrying this bag was awful! Also, it seemed like a lot of things would fit in it, but most of the time the bag was overstuffed and I couldn't even close it. I think I could and really tried to make it work if it were a backpack. You couldn't believe how much my shoulder hurt after using this bag for a while; and I always carried large shoulder bags. On the other hand, this bag has everything you could possibly need: β’ It is very well made. β’ It fits a Spectra S2 pump (It was also great for me to find a good bag for my pump so I can pump at work and carry all the extra stuff I need without spending hundreds of dollars.) β’ It's a backpack, so the weight of things is evenly distributed over both shoulders, so it doesn't seem so heavy. β’ Because it doesn't just hang on one side, it won't interfere with your car seat. β’ Plenty of pockets to stash your essentials. organized both inside and out β’ The main compartment is huge β’ The interior of said compartment is finished in a nice bright blue so things are easier to find than the black lining β’ Compartment for used bottles β’ Compartment for baby wipes for easy access. β’ Comes with a changing pad and an extra small pouch perfect for storing diapers and ointments (the diapers in my other bag were loose and all over the place) Can carry this bag without feeling weird so no need to have a diaper bag specifically for him to buy and move things. or keep both in stock. β’ Upper small pocket perfect for a phone; I also have sunglasses, a small first aid kit, a paper napkin and chest pads. β’ There is room for your laptop/tablet just behind the back padding (but it's not padded on all sides). β’ It has a stroller. Hooks but I don't know if they work well as my stroller says not to hang anything on them so I haven't tried them yet. β’ Large side pockets also hold a lot of stuff! I wear an extra sweatshirt with no problem. The only improvement I'm currently thinking of is adding a bottom pocket for wet/dirty items like I've seen other brands do. I mean, I carry plastic bags for dirty stuff, but it just annoys me to pack them with clean clothes and stuff. I hope you find this review helpful as I don't usually leave reviews especially now that life is busy (I have to take care of my lovely bundle of joy) so trust me I prefer to spend what little free time I have with eating and relax, watch a movie or something; Instead, I'm writing this because I really like this diaper bag and am very happy with my purchase, plus I know how important reviews are for small businesses to sell their stuff. God knows how many reviews I read before deciding on this one and I'm so glad I did. Also, I can't even remember if it smelled like chemicals to begin with, but it definitely doesn't smell like that now.
