For the money do your research before you buy.
This is normal for what it is and for the price. I'd seriously consider doing some good research if you (like me) need to try a clean shave for next to nothing. Apparently it's not exactly suitable for shaving, although you can get away with it. The blades are sharp enough and will get the job done, including some nice cuts while learning. Consider buying a Feather Artist Club SS. Expensive but great reviews. As for me, I'm not sure if I'll continue or just stick with my Merkur DE.
