Review on 🪚 Astro Pneumatic Tool 4607 5 Inch PU Hook and Loop Backing Pad by Ryan Eastman

The perfect complement to Harbor Freight Dual Action Polisher. I bought a cheap fake porter cable from Harbor Freight (it works great even after heavy use, by the way). I also picked up some Harbor Freight Pads. Using the standard backing plate that came with the HF block caused the HF pads to tear apart fairly quickly. The problem was that the base plate spanned the entire width of the pad, while the Velcro portion of the pad was only about 5 inches long. Pads, as a result of which the foam is gnawed and quickly destroyed. I replaced the stock RF ground plane with this and these issues have largely been resolved. It is directly suitable for the HF device. This plate is almost the exact diameter of the 'Velcro' of HF pads (and most other brands). Now the foam portion of the pad simply flexes with use instead of hitting the velcro on the panel. This base plate is also more flexible than the HF plate, which helps when polishing non-flat surfaces. I've been using it for quite some time and haven't had any issues with its durability or balance.
