I read a lot of reviews from people who thought the belts were junk and they didn't hold their position right away. Or just skip it. I've also found this to happen. However! I then looked twice at the hardware and noticed a small arrow on the strap buckle indicating that the end of the stitching on this particular buckle entered from the back of the back at the back end and not through the front webbing like most other webbings . Once properly lined, these straps will hold tight and secure. Can I even say I feel a little overweight just holding one person's weight? Overall very happy with the purchase.
