Review on Enhanced Performance CP430 Vapor Canister by Standard Motor Products by Adam Gambel

I have been offered over $500 to replace this unit at my local shop. After paying $50 for a diagnostic "smoke test" in the garage, I found that I had saved over $200 by doing this removal and installation myself. As others have said, some hoses are easy to remove, but there is one hose in particular that can be quite tricky to remove without the right tools (a curved awl or standard thin curved screwdriver is recommended). Aside from that one problematic hose, this assembly is pretty easy to swap out as long as it's parked in my driveway. Bushings are not required. ONLY BE CAREFUL NOT TO DESTROY THE MOUNTING CLIPS ON ANY HOSES. Be patient and take your time. The check engine light did NOT go off right away so I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and now the light is off.
