Review on StopTech 309.09140 Sport Brake Pads Set with Shims and Installation Kit by Scott Mcgowan

As many of you already know if you're looking for Accord brake replacement parts, the 8th generation Accord brakes were marginal at best. Although Honda made some improvements over the life of the car, the entire braking system was inferior, in my opinion, with excessive wear, excessive wear and rotor warping. I was fed up after changing front and rear pads twice in 22,000 miles (the second time was dismantled by the dealer and immediately deformed again). I replaced all four rotors with StopTech Performance pads and Power Slot rotors. Power slot brake rotor 126.40046SL (I also added StopTech stainless steel brake lines) and has enjoyed smooth operation and MUCH better braking performance over the last 33,000 miles. The brakes bite hard, the rotors stay right and there is NEVER any indication of the brakes going away. Pedal feel is also greatly improved, but this is at least partly due to reinforced steel brake lines. An advice. Stop Tech uses a harder alloy for its slotted rotors than slotted/perforated rotors. So if you don't want the "cooling factor" of slotted rotors, you'll get much better life and performance with slotted-only rotors. As with any upgrade, there are a few trade-offs, albeit minor ones. Street Performance pads generate more dust than the original pads, but that's certainly not excessive or undesirable in my opinion. You'll find that the brakes aren't as responsive when cold due to the harder compound (they need more pedal pressure at first), but after a stop or two they work. After all, while they're as quiet as stock pads around town, you're sure to hear a combination of slotted rotors and hard pad compound, a kind of deep growl when you brake hard at high speeds. I have no objections to this. Actually I even like it. This tells me I'm getting all the stopping power I paid for. Will I spend again? Absolutely! The brakes have changed the driving experience of the Accord and have already saved me money (compared to the ongoing maintenance that the original brakes would have required) and greatly improved my peace of mind.
