My husband and I ordered this meat thermometer and compared it to a thermometer we've been using for a while (a simple stem that just toggles on and off and between F/C readings toggles ). It only took a few applications to understand that we no longer need the old one. For starters, the FoodVille thermometer worked right out of the box (cleaned the sensor first), with a nice big reading, and turned on automatically. /off and even a pluggable probe. When we tested it on salmon this week, we found that it gives us more control over how well the meat is cooked and helps us avoid overcooking. FoodVille has included a chart of temperatures suitable for different types of meat. As a bonus, we also use it to heat water to a temperature suitable for making tea. The thermometer was accurate, consistent and much faster than our old thermometer. To top it off, we love that it's magnetic, meaning we can put it on top of the fridge instead of burying it in an appliance drawer. In short, this product was a treat and we recommend it to anyone looking for a great easy to use meat thermometer! Thanks also to the customer service team.
