Yes, this is in no way the taste of vanilla cake, neither in shape nor form. He likes the standard vanilla with a hint of botanicals. It's not tasty, but it's not bad either. Better than most regular plant proteins I've tried. Let me put it this way: I didn't mind drinking it at all. Since this is the first plant-based protein gainer I've tried, I can't compare it to others. One serving (2 scoops) contains 270 calories, 30 grams of protein. 5g sugars, 30g carbohydrates (11% of the daily dose) with no cholesterol and moderate sodium at 14% of the daily dose. Oh, and another 5g of fat and 2g of saturated fat per serving. Some may not have enough calories, protein and carbs, so be careful! This powder is expensive! You get 15 servings with two scoops per package. That's over $3.50 per serving after tax. That's too much for me and probably too much for most other than diet and nutrition obsessed diehards. I think if you are looking for a plant based protein gainer and can't find anything better then give it a try. To be honest I haven't checked out what other plant protein gainer options are available so check this out if you really want it to have plants in it! The miscibility of this material was poor. I've had two servings so far. The first time I tried two scoops mixed with 12 ounces of almond milk using a shaker and scoop. I shook off the fire for 15-20 seconds and it was lumpy. I tried the second serving (2 scoops again) in 12 ounces of water and it blended a little better, but there were still little clumps every time I drank. Mixed with water, it didn't taste as good as vanilla almond milk. Maybe I'll try the damn blender next time! Unless you absolutely need a plant-based protein gainer, I would skip this one. It's overpriced, doesn't mix well, and just tastes decent. no vanilla cake here! Also make sure you have enough macros from the gainer. I won't say this is a terrible option for a plant protein gainer as I don't know how many are available and have never tried anything other than that. Plus, it's for a niche market, and I suspect die-hard nutritionists will pay that price regardless of flavor or mixability.
