The stand is qualitatively finished, there were no complaints about the quality. One thing I would suggest when buying this is to immediately check how the vented portion of the base aligns with your laptop's vents. The base is 9.5 inches wide, so your laptop will likely sit flush with the base. In my case, the unvented portion of the base was blocking some of my laptop's air vents. The only way I've found to ensure adequate ventilation and stability is to position the adjustable arm over the base of the platform so the laptop rests directly on the arm and not the base. If the entire area of the stand was ventilated, I probably would have kept it.
