I don't know what happened to my last cutlery but in the last year or so most of my spoons have gone AWOL. I kind of expected this when I had a baby, but it didn't happen. Now that he's a teenager, spoons are suddenly in short supply. This is in addition to a couple of spoons being sent for disposal as no one looks before pressing the button. I wanted more than three spoons in my family of three but didn't want to spend a fortune just in case it happened. The trend of misuse/theft of silverware continued. I chose this set because there are so many reviews about it. It is of much better quality than the more expensive Farberware kit it replaces. It's also better considered than the one I discussed purchasing about just to add to the remaining items I have. Heavy, won't get dirty or rust after a few washes in the dishwasher. Overall I am very satisfied and pleasantly surprised!
